Swiss Forchbahn AG Relies on Peak Mobility for New Passenger Information System

Forchbahn Modernizes and Centralizes Its Customer Information

Berlin, November 25, 2025

Swiss railway company Forchbahn AG is pushing ahead with its infrastructure renewal program in a targeted and consistent manner. To modernize its customer information system (CIS), it is relying on the PEAK.TMS train management system from Berlin-based software company Peak Mobility.

System Integration: Collaboration with Zurich Transport Authority ZVV’s Traffic Management System
The new solution ensures unified, real-time control of passenger information and enables efficient dispatching to ensure safe and punctual rail operations. Seamless integration into the system landscape of partners such as ZVV is also guaranteed. A particular focus is placed on interfacing with the ILTIS control and information system from Siemens Mobility, as well as with central data hubs like SBB’s Customer System (CUS) and the Visual Inspection System (VIS), which monitors train operations via GPS tracking.

Central Control Center Software: Functions and Benefits

  • Efficient dispatching and passenger information in the event of delays, disruptions, and track changes
  • Real-time passenger information via displays and audio announcements
  • GPS-based vehicle tracking
  • Expandability to include stationary and mobile components in further project phases

With this, Forchbahn lays the foundation for stable operations and reliable passenger information across all channels. The new control center software will be operational during 2026. The next project phase will begin in 2027, and by around 2028, stations will be continuously equipped with hardware components and integrated into the control center software. This will ensure comprehensive passenger information at all stations and stops.

“With Peak Mobility, we have gained an experienced partner to support our key goals: more reliable operations, modern communication with our passengers, and the sustainable development of our systems,” explains Peter Seiler, Head of Operations at Forchbahn AG.
“Forchbahn is using a system with its new PIS that has already proven itself in everyday use at other Swiss companies such as Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn and Regionalverkehr Bern-Solothurn RBS.”

“Forchbahn is relying on a future-proof, technically flexible platform – and we are proud to deliver tangible added value for passengers and operations with our solutions,” says Robert Baumeister, Managing Director of Peak Mobility GmbH.
