Niederrheinische Verkehrsbetriebe AG relies on PSI Transcom's charging management system
Disposition function ensures optimum vehicle availability
Berlin, February 26, 2025 – Niederrheinische Verkehrsbetriebe AG (NIAG) has commissioned PSI Transcom GmbH with the delivery of a load and charging management system with integrated vehicle dispatching. The aim is to gradually convert the fleet from diesel to electric buses and thus contribute to sustainable mobility. The system will be implemented at the depot in Moers.
The load and charging management system (LLM) optimizes charging processes, minimizes energy costs and smoothes load peaks. It also increases vehicle availability by making efficient use of the charging infrastructure and improving bus scheduling. Seamless integration with existing applications, such as the operations control system (ITCS), enables central control of all processes in 24-hour operation.
The system supports vehicle scheduling, optimizes the use of parking and loading spaces and provides real-time overviews of vehicle status. It is flexibly scalable and takes future expansions of the bus fleet and technological developments into account.
The LLM collects and analyzes operating data, provides valuable insights for performance optimization and supports well-founded decision-making processes with detailed reports and real-time analyses.
By implementing the LLM, NIAG is pursuing the goal of sustainably reducing operating costs, maximizing operational efficiency and making an active contribution to reducing its ecological footprint. The company is thus strengthening its position as a leading mobility provider in the region and continuing to drive forward the transformation towards an emission-free future.
With 36.5 million passengers a year, NIAG is the largest mobility provider in the Lower Rhine region. It operates an extensive network of bus routes and is increasingly relying on an environmentally friendly fleet, to actively shape the transition to an emission-free future.
